As a provider of orthodontic treatment, Dr. Simanek has earned the Tier Advancement level of Fellow in two prominent orthodontic credentialing organizations. This membership level requires a number of successful clinical case presentations as well as hundreds of hours of continuing dental education.

The American Orthodontic Society (AOS) has approximately 1,600 members, primarily from the United States.

It is representative of general dentists and pedodontists as well as orthodontists who limit their practice to only orthodontic treatment.

The International Association for Orthodontics (IAO) is comprised of over 4,000 general dentists practicing orthodontics, pedodontists practicing orthodontics, and orthodontists from around the world who provide orthodontic care directly for their patients.

Dr. Simanek was one of the few dentists selected for the IAO Instructors Institute.

He earned his Senior Instructor Certificate after giving several lectures to fellow doctors. This includes lectures at the DC Dental Society and Fairfax Oral Surgery Study Group.

At national orthodontic meetings, Dr. Simanek frequently presents unusually difficult orthodontic cases he has treated. These presentations demonstrate his outstanding orthodontic results and have earned him awards for Case of the Year multiple times.

Life Outside of the Practice

When he's not practicing dentistry, Dr. Simanek is still able to find time to stay active and enjoy himself outside of work. His interests include Ultimate Frisbee and volleyball, camping in the great outdoors, taking in performances at The Kennedy Center, and traveling locally and abroad during his off-time.

Some of his most treasured memories from his travels were captured on film. We have displayed some of these travel memories at Fairfax Family Dental, such as the rare and unusual species he observed and photographed in the Galápagos Islands.
